* so Mudpuppy Night was conducted with an umbrella for the first time
(19h58-20h25, 3°C, light rain, force 3-4 wind - RVCA flow data not
online now, and I forgot to bring a thermometer for water temperature).

After a generously rainy day, clear water was coming over all three
spillways, but the disintegration of the masses of algae on the flats
made the water below the dam opaquely murky, and made it was hard to see
anything in more than 20 cm of water. All species except Gyrinid Beetles
were sparsely represented (many of both the usual large and many of a
small species of Gyrinidae): one big Crayfish at the Vantage Point, a
small dead Green Frog there, and one Green Frog juvenile alive on the
flats, a medium-size juvenile Bull Frog on the flats, and a medium-large
Mudpuppy coming up onto the flats, about a metre above the dropoff.
