LOTE (location on the Earth), which will convert any co-ordinate
system/datum to any other.

UTM was a good idea in the 1980s, but GPS and Google Maps and agile
computers began to make it obsolete almost immediately after Ontario
made it the official georeferencing system for the province.

Yes, I have an app myself to easily convert one UTM at a time, but I
have no intention of doing that for thousands of entries.

Are these formats both text files? If so, a script could be written to reformat automatically and then thousands of data sets could be switched quickly as a batch process.  the tools to do this are standard on some computer OSs, but not windows.

* back around 1994, when I added lat/long to my database, I had foxpro
programs to make the switch, using the Garmin GPS program to do the
conversion. I've since gradually switched to lat/long only, but this
winter I'm going to need to flip a body of records that didn't get
converted, so if Stew or anyone has lots of UTM co-ordinates that
they'd like to have converted, I could do these when I figure out how
to do big blocks of records with LOTE.

I have an excel spreadsheet where you simply paste the UTM in two columns and it quickly converts for you. It is incredibly handy. I can't attach it here so maybe Fred has a way I can share this?
