I heard a few "over the hill" at the neighbours' big pond/lake a few
days ago, but none since. With the balmy weather this week I'm sure
there will be an explosion of sightings. My little lake is still
frozen solid, was looking at some pics from last year at this time and
there were still only a few "ice floes" floating around. With the
warm temps and rain coming in I'm sure the wood frogs will fire up
within a few days.
I still have juncos and tree sparrows hopping about, I'm scattering a
lot of seeds out so they can fatten up before they take off for the
north. Someone saw a phoebe in Kingston according to the birding
list, I expect to hear those any time now.
