to Eastern Ontario Natural History listserve
...just the ordinary cheeping notes from somewhere in tall Maple trees,
but it's very impressive how affecting that sound is after not hearing
it all winter. I guess they'll be operating on winter fat and the few
old dried up Crab Apples and Buckthorn berries, since there's still 40
cm of snow on the ground.

With this warm weather coming I sure look forward to hearing them!
One person from our local astronomy club posted photos on that group
chat list of 3 sandhill cranes in a marsh near the Harrowsmith area.
It is feeling like spring, I shall be enjoying my walk out the laneway
today.
