* here we have had a silence nearby, which I attribute to the dry
October having killed off all the frogs near the minor surrounding
wetlands. No Chorus or Wood or Leopard frogs, and the Peepers, Toads,
and Treefrogs all a long way away. No Owls, but we have had one burst of
Whippoorwill calling, which we hear only every few years.
The backyard pond is crowded with Green Frogs, and we're waiting to hear
the output from last year's hordes of this species.
