Has anyone worked with nanoplankton? If so, what protocol do you use to extract DNA? I have some very small cells that are resistant to breakage and therefore DNA extraction despite the use of a mini-beadbeater with 0.5 mm beads. I was going to try freezing the cells and then beadbeating today. Any thoughts or suggestions?
