Hi group
I have a Windows 2019 server where we use nats-server (v2.11.9-windows-386) running as a Windows service.
It works well for days, unless I have webroot antivirus turned on, during which it dies after 4-5 minutes. There is nothing in the nats log, just a record in the event log that the process died unexpectedly. There is no indication in the AV that anything has been detected as a virus or similar. This is under very little load. The jobs that are sent through nats.io triggers some file reading activities (in c:\programdata) but nothing out of the ordinary.
Currently the service runs using the SYSTEM account, but I will try to use a less privileged account to see if this helps. Default port 4222.
Anyway, does anyone know if this is a known issue? I will have a call now with Webroot to see what they can find but from previous experience they are going to blame the application.
Thankful for any input,
Best regards
Johan

so, a little update.
After updating to 2.11.10 the issue doesn't happen anymore.
Webroot refuses any idea of them causing this, but now we have similar issues with another execuatble, not related to nats.io so there's for sure something fishy going on with Webroot.
Best regards
Johan
