Hey guys,
I went crazy when I found out about Natron. I installed it on my Ubuntu 14.04 machine and tried to test it, but, it won't let me import a mp4 file. When I installed it I told it to get ffmpeg and all the other decoders but it won't work. I REALLY want to use this software. Can any of you tell me how to import mp4 into Natron?
I really would appreciate it. PNG screenshot of my error message is attached.
Thanks,
Micah

Post this issue at this address - https://github.com/MrKepzie/Natron/issues. The developers should be able to help or even find a bug if there is one.

Hi,

It seems to be working on my mac.
Please take a look at the "Readers" tab in the preferences window of Natron.
This might be because the FFMPEG library your linux build is linked against is very old, but I doubt so.

Here's a screenshot showing that it works for me:

I made the mistake about my Mac. I had to close and reopen Natron and everything worked.

This is your season

Note that when you report bugs with readers or writers (FFmpeg, OIIO), it's also a very good idea to give the version numbers you get in the "?" button of the parameters panel for that plugin.

If there are different version numbers in the "compiled with" and "running with" columns, your installation probably has a problem

OK. This is weird! I tried closing Natron and reopening it and it didn't work. But, I did find out that videos I've recorded don't work but videos I've downloaded from YouTube work great. I've tried footage I've recorded from two different cameras, neither of them work. These files work fine in Blender, Kdenlive, and OpenShot. What could be the problem with that? The cameras I tried were the Canon Vixia hf r40 and a old Kodak point and shoot. I really don't get why my videos don't work, but those I got from YouTube do. They're all mp4.
