Participants will learn:
How to work with various types of environmental data sets from on-line
sources
Future opportunities for using large-scale datasets, like those from
the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON), to understand the
context of local and regional scale phenomena.
GIS, concept mapping, and skills for communicating findings to various
audiences
Ways to engage effectively with communities working for environmental
justice
Workshop Highlights
The workshop will present participants with opportunities to:
Network and meet representatives from environmental career tracks
Work in groups with scientific experts to explore geospatial datasets
relevant to the ecological and socioeconomic dimensions of the Bay
Explore perspectives of peers, scientists, professionals and local
organizations
