Dear Friends and Fellow Skiers,

Thanks to you for joining the Birkie Foundation, making your annual contribution and voting for me in the Board election. Because of your support, and the tub-thumping several of you did with others, I was elected in August. All three incumbents – John Garrett, Dennis Kruse and John Kotar were elected, as were newcomers Mike Mandli and myself. I had the lowest vote total of the five, so I got the one-year replacement term rather than a normal three-year term. That means I’ll need to run again next year for a regular term.

I’m honored and tremendously excited to start working on the board. The first monthly meeting of the new board is next Monday, September 15, in Hayward, and I’ll be there. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You have my email address, and my phone is 414-559-4667.

I’ll do my best to keep you informed of what’s going on in subsequent emails. If you know of anybody besides yourself whom you think should be receiving my updates, please send me their email addresses, and I’ll add them to the list.
