Dear Sochivanny,

Could you please tell what year the report covered? I found some of the information are not up to date.

Example below:

Cambodia: There is a Law on Suppression of Kidnapping, Trafficking, Exploitation of Human Persons and

Constitutional provisions that make trafficking illegal. There is also a draft Law on Human Trafficking and Sexual

Exploitation that has not been passed. The Phnom Penh Municipal Authority has put in place a Joint Committee for

the Implementation of the Policy Guideline on the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation of Women and Children to

“find and prosecute traffickers”. However laws are not effectively enforced and the impunity of traffickers, the

practice of bribes and unlawful settlements continue to hinder implementation. There are concerns that trafficked

women and girls are dealt as criminals under immigration laws with no law to protect victims from such

prosecution. (NGO Committee on CEDAW & CANBOW, 2006, p.33)

Thanks

Veasna
