"Garvi Gujarat" Honored with Green Building Award by GRIHA
New Delhi: The iconic "Garvi Gujarat" building, representing Gujarat in New Delhi, has been honored with a three-star rating by the Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA). Recognized as a pivotal tool in evaluating emission intensity reduction through habitat, GRIHA plays an integral role in India's mitigation strategy for combating climate change, as outlined in the nation's "Nationally Determined Contributions."
Developed by TERI and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, the GRIHA rating system was adopted as the national standard for green buildings by the Government of India in 2007.
Notably, the Garvi Gujarat building was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in September 2019. The building has successfully met all the requirements of a green building, featuring eco-friendly elements such as a vertical garden, solar panels, a sewage treatment plant (STP), electrochromic glass/smart glass in the skylight, water harvesting systems, and solid waste management facilities.
Spanning approximately 20,000 square feet, Garvi Gujarat remains a major attraction for visitors, even five years after its inauguration.

गरवी गुजरात भवन को GRIHA द्वारा ग्रीन बिल्डिंग अवॉर्ड से सम्मानित किया गया
नई दिल्ली में स्थित गुजरात राज्य का प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली प्रतिष्ठित ‘गरवी गुजरात’बिल्डिंग को GRIHA-ग्रीन रेटिंग फॉर इंटीग्रेटेड हैबिटाट एसेसमेंट द्वारा तीन स्टार रेटिंग से सम्मानित किया गया है। GRIHA को हैबिटाट के माध्यम से उत्सर्जन तीव्रता में कमी का मूल्यांकन करने में महत्वपूर्ण उपकरण के रूप में मान्यता प्राप्त है। यह रेटिंग सिस्टम, “"Nationally Determined Contributions” में उल्लिखित जलवायु परिवर्तन से निपटने के लिए भारत की मिटिगेशन स्ट्रैटजी में एक अहम भूमिका निभाता है।
TERI और भारत सरकार के नवीन एवं नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा मंत्रालय द्वारा विकसित GRIHA रेटिंग प्रणाली को 2007 में भारत सरकार द्वारा ग्रीन बिल्डिंग्स के लिए राष्ट्रीय मानक के रूप में अपनाया गया था।
उल्लेखनीय है कि माननीय प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा सितंबर 2019 में गरवी गुजरात भवन का उद्घाटन किया गया था। गरवी गुजरात भवन ने ग्रीन बिल्डिंग बनने के लिए ज़रूरी सभी आवश्यकताओं को सफलतापूर्वक पूरा किया है, जिसमें वर्टिकल गार्डन, सौर पैनल, सीवेज ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट (एसटीपी), इलेक्ट्रोक्रोमिक ग्लास/स्मार्ट ग्लास, वॉटर हार्वेस्टिंग सिस्टम और सॉलिड वेस्ट मैनेजमेंट जैसी पर्यावरण-अनुकूल प्रणालियां शामिल हैं। लगभग 20,000 वर्ग फीट में फैला, गरवी गुजरात भवन उद्घाटन के पांच साल बाद भी आगंतुकों के लिए आकर्षण का प्रमुख केंद्र बना हुआ है।
