Greetings from ADR!

It gives us immense pleasure to invite you to a seminar on "Voter Awareness, Money and Muscle Power in the Karnataka Election 2023" being organized by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Karnataka Election Watch on 26th April 2023, Wednesday, at 3 PM at Students’ Christian Movement of India House (SCMI House), Bengaluru. Prof Trilochan Sastry, Chairman, Founder Member and Trustee of ADR, will be moderating the discussion.

The focus points for the seminar are as follows:

1.     Factors behind the continuing victory of the two ‘Ms’, i.e. Money and Muscle power.

2.     Focus on the origin of such factors and whether they are here to stay in the coming future.

3.     Sluggish pace of electoral/political reforms and discuss the role of political parties in this regard.

4.     Measures that could be taken to ensure timely implementation of various recommendations proposed by ECI, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and other agencies for electoral/political reforms which would strengthen our democracy.

5.     Importance of Informed Voting.

6.     Role of youth in strengthening our democracy.

During the seminar, we will also be releasing a report on “15th Legislative Assembly of Karnataka: Analysis of Performance of MLAs (2018 - 2023)” in English, Hindi and Kannada languages. Please find attached agenda and background note of the seminar.

This event is an opportunity for us to add impetus and synergy to our work by bringing together all stakeholders. We look forward to your participation in making the seminar a success.

Best wishes and warm regards,
