Dear Friends,

Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Rajasthan Election Watch have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of all 25 Ministers including Chief Minister from Rajasthan State Assembly Elections 2023. Surenderpal Singh is currently not an MLA in the Rajasthan assembly. He is a BJP candidate for the January 5 bye-election to the Karanpur assembly constituency.

 The information is based on the affidavits submitted by the ministers before the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly Elections

Criminal Background

  • Ministers with Criminal Cases: Out of the 25 ministers analysed, 8 (32%) ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves. 
  • Ministers with Serious Criminal Cases: 4(16%) ministers have declared serious criminal cases against themselves.

Financial Background

  • Crorepati Ministers: All 25(100%) ministers are crorepatis.
  • Average Assets: The average assets of 25 ministers analysed is Rs 7.08 crores.
  • Minister with Highest Assets: The minister with the highest declared total assets is Gajendra Singh from Lohawat constituency with assets worth Rs. 29.07 crores.
  • Minister with Lowest Assets: The minister with the lowest declared total assets is Babulal Kharadi from Jhadol (ST)constituency with assets worth Rs. 1.24 crores.
  • Liabilities: 19 ministers have declared liabilities out of which the minister with the highest liabilities is Sanjay Sharma of Alwar Urban constituency with Rs. 4.91 crores of liabilities.

  • Ministers’ Education: 4 (16%) ministers have declared their educational qualification to be between 5th pass and 12th pass, while 18 (72%) ministers have declared having an educational qualification of graduate and above and 3 ministers are Diploma Holders.
  • Ministers’ Age: 6 (24%) ministers have declared their age to be between 31 and 50 years while 19 (76%) ministers have declared their age to be between 51 and 80 years.
  • Women Ministers: Out of 25 ministers analysed, 2 (8%) ministers are women.
