Dear Friends,

Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Andhra Pradesh Election Watch have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of 134 re-contesting MLAs in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election 2024. Out of the 134 re-contesting MLAs, assets of 123 MLAs (92%) have increased ranging from 1% to 973% and assets of 11 MLAs (8%) have decreased ranging from -2% to -50%.

Summary of comparison for re-contesting MLAs

Average Assets in 2019 Elections: The average assets of these 134 re-contesting MLAs fielded by various parties in 2019 was Rs 31.39 Crores.

Average Assets in 2024 Elections: The average asset of these 134 re-contesting MLAs in 2024 is Rs 49.40 Crores.

Average Asset growth in 5 years (2019-2024): The average asset growth for these 134 re- contesting MLAs, between the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections of 2019 and 2024 is Rs 18.00 Crores.

Percentage growth in 5 years (2019-2024): Average percentage growth in assets for these 134 re-contesting MLAs is 57%.

Top 5 Re-contesting MLAs with highest asset increase (Rupee-wise)

Chandrababu Naidu Nara of TDP from Kuppam constituency has declared maximum increase in assets with an increase of Rs 263.26 Crores i.e from Rs 668.57 Crores in 2019 to Rs. 931.83 Crores in 2024.

Assets of Yeluri Sambasiva Rao of TDP from Parchur constituency have increased by Rs 253.90 Crores, from Rs 41.90 Crores in 2019 to Rs 295.80 Crores in 2024.

Assets of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSRCP from Pulivendla constituency have risen by Rs 247.26 Crores, from Rs 510.38 Crores in 2019 to Rs 757.65 Crores in 2024.
