Dear Friends,

Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Andhra Pradesh Election Watch have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of all 25 Ministers including Chief Minister from Andhra Pradesh State Assembly Elections 2024.


The information is based on the affidavits submitted by the ministers prior to 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections.

 Criminal Background   

  • Ministers with Criminal Cases: Out of the 25 ministers analysed, 22 (88%) ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves. 
  • Ministers with Serious Criminal Cases: 14(56%) ministers have declared serious criminal cases against themselves.
  • Ministers with cases related to murder: One minister namely Kollu Ravindra of TDP from Machilipatnam has declared a case related to murder (IPC Section-302).
  • Ministers with cases related to Attempt to Murder: 6 Ministers have declared cases related to attempt to murder (IPC Section 307) against themselves. The details of these ministers are given below:

  • Minister with Lowest Assets: The minister with the lowest declared total assets is Doctor Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy from Kondapi (SC) constituency with assets worth Rs. 93.41 Lakhs.
  • Liabilities: 24 ministers have declared liabilities out of which the minister with the highest liabilities is Narayana Ponguru of Nellore City constituency with Rs. 190.17 crores of liabilities.

Other Background Details

  • Ministers’ Education: 6 (24%) ministers have declared their educational qualification to be between 10th pass and 12th pass, while 18 (72%) ministers have declared having an educational qualification of graduate and above. 1 minister is Diploma holder.
  • Ministers’ Age: 19 (76%) ministers have declared their age to be between 41 and 60 years while 6 (24%) ministers have declared their age to be between 61 and 80 years.
  • Women Ministers: Out of 25 ministers analysed, 3(12%) ministers are women.
