Dear Friends,

Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Karnataka Election Watch (KEW) had filed RTIs to the Karnataka Assembly Secretariat asking for the information pertaining to the performance of the MLAs and the Legislative Assembly. This report has been generated from the responses received. Analysis of Number of Sittings in Each Session of Karnataka Legislative Assembly

v  There were 15 sessions in the 14th Karnataka Legislative Assembly.

v  On an average, Karnataka State Assembly sat for 44 days per year.

v  The 14th Karnataka Legislative Assembly sat for 216 days from 2013 to 2017.

v  The longest sessions was the 8th session, from 29th June 2015 to 27 November 2015. It had 32 sittings.

v  On an average a MLA from Karnataka has attended 139 days of assembly sessions.
