Dear Friends,
Consequent to the reconstitution of the Maharashtra state cabinet on 09 August 2022, Association for Democratic Reforms and Maharashtra Election Watch have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of all 20 Ministers including Chief Minister from Maharashtra State Assembly 2019.

  • Ministers with Criminal Cases: 15(75%) ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves.
  • Ministers with Serious Criminal Cases: 13 (65%) ministers have declared serious criminal cases against themselves.

  • Minister with Highest Assets: The minister with the highest declared total assets is Mangal Prabhat Lodha from Malabar Hill constituency with assets worth Rs. 441.65 crores.
  • Minister with Lowest Assets: The minister with the lowest declared total assets is Bhumare Sandipanrao Asaram from Paithan constituency with assets worth Rs. 2.92 crores.
  • Liabilities: A total of 18 ministers have declared liabilities out of which the minister with the highest liabilities is Mangal Prabhat Lodha of Malabar Hill constituency with Rs. 283.36 crores of liabilities.


Other Background details (Education, Gender, Age)

  • Ministers’ Education:  8 (40%) ministers have declared their educational qualification to be between 10th and 12th standard while 11 (55%) ministers have declared having an educational qualification of graduate or above and one minister is Diploma Holder.
  • Ministers’ Age:  A total of 4(20%) ministers have declared their age to be between 41-50 years while 16(80%) ministers have declared their age to be between 51- 70 years.
  • Women Ministers: Out of 20 Ministers, none are women.
