Dear Friends,
Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of 71 ministers out of 72 Ministers including Prime Minister from Lok Sabha Elections 2024 and current Rajya Sabha. The details of George Kurien were not analysed as he is not currently a member of either house and he has not contested the Lok Sabha Election.

 Criminal Background   

  • Ministers with Criminal Cases: Out of the 71 Ministers analysed, 28 (39%) Ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves.
  • Ministers with Serious Criminal Cases: 19 (27%) Ministers have declared serious criminal cases including cases related to attempt to murder, kidnapping, crimes against women etc.
  • Ministers with cases related to Attempt to Murder: 2 Ministers have declared cases related to attempt to murder (IPC Section 307) against themselves. The details of these ministers are given below:
