Gencer,

for system identification you typically need to send a test signal to
the system to identify and measure the response. The PCI-7358 is
optimized for control tasks by running the control algorithm and the
I/O access onboard on a DSP. That means that from a host PC you don't have direct
access to the I/Os, but you will always have to channel your I/O access
through several communication layers on the board, which is not very fast and doesn't provide stable timing (jitter). These are the reasons why it's hard or even impossible to use a 73xx board in an open-loop mode that is required for system identification.With this said, you should think of using a <a href="http://www.ni.com/dataacquisition" target="_blank">DAQ device</a> for the system identification process instead of a 73xx board.
