For example, we have a Pot1, and the connection Pot1.value = Pot2.value.

To delete Pot1, we need to delete the connection first. In Object Explorer, right click on the Pot1, select Edit Connections.... You will see the connected datamember in "Existing connections". Here we see "value". Double click on "value", in the yellow field, there is the connection. Click "Clear", or you manually remove it, then click "Accept". Then the "value" will disappear in "Existing connections", which means the connection is removed. Without any connection, we can delete the Pot1 now.

Maybe you don't double-click on the connection to select it. In "Existing connections", you need to double-click on a connection, and then click "Clear" and "Accept". Then you need to double-click the next connection. If you just click on other connection, it's not selected.

For example, see attached pic 1, I have two connections Panel1.height and Panel1.activate. I select "height" and clear it. See pic 2, height is deleted. But if I click on "activate", it is not selected. The connection is still "Panel1.height". Then if I "Accept", it will try to create a new connection because the connection to Panel1.height doesn't exist. WIth the empty parameter, it will return the "expression cannot be empty" error.

So you need to double-click on "activate" to select it and clear it.

Have a try.

Never mind. In a word, double-click on the connection in "Existing Connections", "Clear" and "Accept".
If you still have problem in deleting objects or get crash after deleting connections, you can upload your process to ftp://ftp.ni.com/incoming, Let me have a look.
