Hi,

I have been trying to use the online one against all tool to search for particular neurons that I'm interested in (ex. fru-M-300339) and sometimes get the error: An error has occurred. Check your logs or contact the app author for clarification. I was wondering if there was a particular reason for this? The neuron can be found here: http://www.flycircuit.tw/modules.php?name=clearpage&op=detail_table&nid=26479

Thank you!

Pam

There is nothing to stop you from doing this although I confess it would still be slightly involved. The main difficulty would be to compute the bridging registration between the FlyCircuit 1.1 template brain and the one that we used to register all of the first round of data (a template that we synthesised from raw FlyCircuit image data that we call FCWB). We have a paper in progress describing much of our toolchain for which this would be a good addition, so we will try to do it by the end of the summer. All the best, Greg.

Hi Greg,

Thank you for your fast response. I think I know the answer to this but figured I would ask just in case: Is there a way to download the updated 1.1 collection so that we can locally search it using NBLAST desktop or is that not possible until you process the new neurons and add them to your database? Thank you for your help,

Pam

Dear Pam,
Thanks for your interest in this tool. I think the reason for the error is that your neuron of interest in that case is from the updated flycircuit 1.1 collection and not the original flycircuit 1.0 16000 neuron collection. Clearly the error message should be better until we process those neurons and add them to our search database. You could in theory still do a manual search using that neuron against the flycircuit 1.0 collection if you download the tracing from flycircuit.tw and then use the upload a neuron option. However even there we have not yet provided support for the new flycircuit template brain in question. So just now more work on our part required. If you are familiar with GitHub you are welcome to raise an issue on the jefferislab nblast on the fly repository. Best wishes, Greg.
