fetch volumes from CATMAID

Hi Greg,

I'm trying to use this function to get a mesh from CATMAID 

http://jefferis.github.io/rcatmaid/reference/catmaid_get_volume.html

When i ran the example

v375=catmaid_get_volume(375)

it returns an error 

Error in UseMethod("read_xml") : 

  no applicable method for 'read_xml' applied to an object of class "NULL"

Any ideas what might gone wrong?

Hi Arthur,

It looks like there isn’t a volume matching your query - but clearly the error message should be better. Could you file an issue at github.com/jefferis/rcatmaid?

As for why the volume isn’t being found, perhaps you could provide more details of the volume you want?

I will follow up in detail via the GitHub issue but just a note that I think these issues are actually already fixed in the current version of the catmaid package (as installed from GitHub) and were mainly due to changes in the CATMAID API.

I wanted to get the whole brain  "v14 neuropil" by running catmaid_get_volume("v14.neuropil"), but it didn't work. Then i tried running an example in the help file v375=catmaid_get_volume(375) which as you said, didn't seem to exist.

I just tried  catmaid_get_volume(439) where "439" is the id of v14.neuropil and it worked! So perhaps there is a misinterpretation of the name?
