Update the maps in your Eclipse AVN in-dash navigation receiver with this 2008 map disc. Slip the disc into the dedicated navigation DVD slot and your AVN Series receiver will have access to all the latest information.
Overview: The MDV-08D is a 2008 version update Navigation disc for compatible Eclipse Navigation units. The DVD Map ver.2.2 (MDV-08D) can be used to update the following Eclipse Navigation Systems - AVN2454, AVN5435, AVN30D, AVN5500, AVN50D, AVN51D, AVN20D, and the AVN6600. The DVD-ROM's data has been compiled as of December 2006. The POI category now has increased to 8.76 million points and City Maps cover more areas.
For avn 5435 on the left:press menu and cont ant the same time, while holding them down press menu on the right 5 times
a menu will appear and ask you for a code. you have to call 800-233-2216 and pay $25 for the code. you will have to explain where you bought your eclipse and or know the name of the original owner. if it doesnt match they will not give it to you
Look up Eclipse ESN.... these units are equipped with a security feature that makes a user assigned CD the key to unlock the radio in case power is removed and restored to the unit (i.e: stolen). The cd that the user puts in could be anything and unless you have the same cd to unlock you will not be able to use the radio. You may be able to get an eclipse dealer to unlock it for you if you can proof ownership.
