Congrats to all who completed their NaSoAlMo album this year! We had
tons of late signups and ended up with about 150 participants this
time. Looks like about 35 or 40 albums were made in the process.
Hundreds of songs. Pretty amazing if you step back and think about
it. I have special admiration for the winners this year, since I
couldn't pull it off. I tried and tried, but the mojo never done
showed. Still, I got about twenty minutes of so-so stuff that
wouldn't exist otherwise, and a few of those tracks will probably
stick around on my playlists for pure nostalgia. There's always next
year! And NaSoAlMo has inspired me to attempt to write and record a
"real" solo album, which I plan to start working on now. Never mind
the fact that I also planned to start working on it last year. And
the year before that...
Anyway, just wanted to give everyone mad props for finishing and/or
attempting. As usual, the stuff is surprisingly solid and wildly
divergent...just how it ought to be. Y'all rock. Keep checking the
website as there will be a few stragglers getting their music online
and available for listening over the next few days.
Cheers,
Todd
