Senior PHP Engineer

Our Engineering team is seeking a Senior PHP Engineer to help in building our next generation platform.  The ideal candidate is a seasoned PHP engineer who can own the design and implementation of the platform.  S|he is proficient in PHP and SQL and is comfortable with the full stack of the platform architecture including knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML/CSS/JavaScript and User Experience Design.

Responsibilities:

• Design new features.  Be excited to try new techniques and technology. Think outside the box, but be grounded in reality.
  
• Communicate your designs to other team members in a way that is easily understood to minimize back-and-forth.
  
• Collaborate with and rely on the experience and knowledge of the software architects without following blindly.  Air disagreements when discussion is valuable.
  
• Work closely with management to determine both feature feasibility and resources required for a project in terms of time, money, and manpower.
  
• Respond to bug reports with speed, and test your fixes and everything else, too.
  
• Own your work: admit errors quickly, fix them, and learn from the experience.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of PHP and MySQL database development experience
  
• Experience designing and building high performing and secure RESTful APIs
  
• Experience building and maintaining a scalable and reliable analytics and reporting solution
  
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment
  
• Strong knowledge of HTTPS and data security (Knowledge of HIPAA a major plus)
  
• 1+ years of experience in client-side technologies like HTML, CSS & JavaScript
  
• Mobile development experience is a big plus
  
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
  
• Experience with Agile software development
