Last night, I mentioned that we're looking for speakers and sponsors at Nashville PHP.

Speakers

Maybe you've never spoken before, or maybe you've spoken a hundred times. Everyone has a story they can tell, and we want you to share your stories with us. Here are some ideas you might consider talking about:
  • Show us how to use a new library you've found helpful
  • Tell us about a project you've been working on
  • Walk us through the steps you took to solve a problem
  • Teach the group how to use a new technology or service
  • Present on a feature of PHP that you find fascinating (i.e. arrays, dates, math, PHP 7, extensions, HHVM, etc.)
  • Give a talk on best practices or developer culture
  • the list goes on...
I have a box full of the official, stuffed, plush PHP "elephpants." I have blue, purple, orange, black, and, soon, wooly mammoth ones. All featured speakers will have their choice of one stuffed elephpant (until I run out). A featured speaker is someone who signs up to speak and has their topic listed on our Meetup.com meeting details. We can have more than one featured speaker in a month, and a polished slide deck isn't required—you can demo something and walk us through code.

If you're interested in speaking, send an email to organ...@nashvillephp.org.

Sponsors

We love our sponsors, and we love partnering with local companies! If you own or work for a company that is interested in sponsoring a Nashville PHP user group meeting, please let us know at organ...@nashvillephp.org.

Here's what a sponsorship entails:
  • Buying food and drinks for our meeting attendees
What you get out of a sponsorship:
  • We'll add your logo and information to our meeting details post on Meetup.com
  • We'll tweet from @nashvillephp thanking you for your support
  • We'll have your logo in our intro/announcements slides at the meeting
  • We'll give you a few minutes to introduce yourself and talk about your company at our meeting
