PART-TIME FREELANCE DEVELOPER

Parthenon Publishing, a local Nashville provider of digital and print
solutions, is seeking a part-time freelance web developer with a
minimum of 2–3 years experience who can work on-site in our office for
approximately 15–20 hours per week. This position will assist
Parthenon’s lead web developer with various web development and IT
projects.

Responsibilities include:
• develop new web applications, as directed
• maintain and/or enhance existing client websites and applications
• perform end-to-end testing of web applications using multiple
platforms and browsers

Required skill sets / qualifications:
• proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP
• experience with WordPress, Drupal, and/or Joomla platforms
• ability to troubleshoot and debug web applications
• website design sensibilities with an understanding of the importance
of UI and UX
• proficiency in related applications such as email clients, FTP
clients and web browsers
• understanding of the architecture of clients, servers, and Internet
systems
• understanding of the development lifecycle and able to communicate
project status, issues, and resolutions
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree
• 2-3 years of experience and a portfolio of work
• self motivated, detail-oriented and organized
• Flash video/animation experience a plus

The position will pay hourly, with the rate based on the selected
candidate’s experience level.
