Hereit (www.hereit.org) is an independent, bootstrapped e-commerce and music discovery platform for original local artists, organized by locations and genres. The site allows listeners to find and support independent music, while giving artists a platform to stream songs and sell downloads, keeping 100 percent of all sales, with no contracts or commitments of any kind. By equitably connecting musicians and listeners, with equal respect for both, the site seeks to support and sustain music communities at all levels—individual, city, state and national—while providing a simple but powerful alternative to digital exploitation and media consolidation. Based in Nashville, Hereit is totally independent and completely pro-artist. There is no advertising, corporate involvement or data capture of any kind.
Hereit is looking for a driven, committed and experienced PHP developer to devise and execute the company’s longterm technology strategy and trajectory. This is not an entry level or advisory role. The developer must be willing and able to code, while also understanding and manifesting through development the principles and objectives of the site. As the site grows, the position will grow to encompass team leadership and management. As Hereit is bootstrapped and independent, development in exchange for an equity stake in the company is open for consideration.
