Hey everyone,
My (amazing, wonderful) employer - Bernard Health - has an immediate need for a PHP developer (maybe 2). You will be our 3rd full-time developer. You'll be joining a team of highly motivated, highly effective people who get things done. In the role, you'll have the chance to contribute to every facet of our software business and pick where you want to make your mark.
You have these skills:
- Years of experience with PHP, probably MySQL, and possibly Apache & Linux
- Experience with modern PHP: classes, namespaces, Composer, etc.
- Bonus points for familiarity with 1 or more open-source PHP frameworks
- Bonus points for experience with Amazon AWS - specifically EC2, S3, and RDS
- The understanding that software is written for human consumption
The benefits offered by Bernard include health, dental, vision, a health savings account, no vacation policy, work-life balance, a casual, flexible working environment, and a shiny new MacBook Pro and Thunderbolt display.
I am responsible for hiring you (with input from the CEO), and you will report directly to me.
We are cool with you working remotely occasionally, but we believe there are real benefits to colocation and expect to see you at our office in midtown (1900 Church St) most of the time.
About Bernard Health, briefly: the business comprises several moving parts. Our corner is a human resources administration SaaS. While we consider ourselves a "startup", we are a stable organization. Our expectation for our software is that it will become the flagship product of Bernard Health in the very near future, and we would love for you to be part of that growth with us.
If you're interested in applying, please email your resume and a brief cover letter to joe.w...@bernardhealth.com. If you wish, you may also include a link to your Github account, blog, recent project, or literally anything else that you find interesting - relevant or otherwise. :-)
If you're not interested in applying, hopefully we'll meet soon anyway. We want Bernard Health to be an active and engaged organization in the Nashville developer - and especially PHP - community.
Thanks for your consideration. I am excited to hear from you!
Joe
