The PHP Developer role is to design, code, test, and analyze software programs and SQL databases and applications. This job includes research, design, documentation, and modifying software, and other relevant documentation throughout the SDLC. The candidate will analyze and amend software (currently PHP and Perl) and MySQL database faults in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports.
Essential Functions
Write, translate, and code software programs, stored procedures, and applications according to specifications.
Work with team members to conceptualize and develop new software architectures, databases, and applications.
Meet deliverable schedule in the SDLC for a variety of projects.
Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications.
Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purpose of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
Experience:
Excellent technical knowledge of PHP, and 3+ years developing in PHP
In-depth experience developing complex SQL queries
Extensive software troubleshooting experience
Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Facility with data structures, including an understanding of Big-O runtimes for various operations
Experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA)
Experience with Git version control, including branching, merging, and handling merge conflicts
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Comfortable using and navigating RedHat Linux
Serviceable with Microsoft Windows
Experience with languages other than PHP is a plus
