We’re a small company, but we’ve been managed prudently and are effectively monetized, having funded all growth organically since our founding in 1998. You’ll have the size and flexibility of a startup, without the cloud of uncertainty.
There are a ton of opportunities in front of us and we’re looking for a highly talented developer to help us realize our goals.
A fast study in any language you set your mind to, you have particular expertise in PHP, Javascript and frameworks thereof. You have a healthy heaping of devops experience, are skilled in all levels of the LAMP stack and can implement modern caching systems with the best of them. You may not be the greatest designer but you care about how our product functions and can work effectively on the front-end.
You’re self-starting, self-organized, highly motivated and energetic. You get your kicks from creating world-class functionality and can’t wait to start working every day. At the same time, you’re comfortable in an environment with legacy code and technical debt, and are able to effectively assess relative priorities in what needs to be extended, replaced, or used as-is.
You’re an effective communicator, comfortable in a team environment and able to work from user stories to polished, tested code. Oh, and you like dogs :)
Our company is small and you won’t find layers of management between you and feature deployment. You’ll work primarily with myself (project manager) and several closely associated contract developers.
This is a full-time contract-to-hire position with an initial contract term of 6 months. We care about the site and will pay what we need to get top talent. Salary is highly competitive and commensurate with experience, reflecting a typical contracting premium.
We're based in Atlanta, but are also looking for candidates in surrounding states. A remote candidate should be prepared to meet at HQ in north-Atlanta about a week out of every month: we want you to be a key member of the team so it’s important that you have regular contact with our team.
We’re a pretty lean group so we’re looking for someone with full-stack fluency. You should be familiar with different caching solutions, have the ability to configure Apache & Nginx as well as to create and modify deployment scripts (preferably using capistrano).
