Hello everyone. I recently joined the ranks of ipad users, and have been looking for an app where I can browse/edit site code from Safari. I use Dreamweaver on my laptop, but need something I can use on the ipad for light work when I can't get on the laptop. Ideally, for starters/evaluation, I need something on a trial or free version that will allow me to view (and edit {as much as possible given the limited resources on my new ipad}?) html, as well as php. So I thought I'd look for suggestions from the group instead of navigating thru the maze of istore apps. I appreciate any input! Thank you!

Michael,

Textastic is a great code editor for the iPad.  It does not have a trial version.  If you use it much, I think you will easily get $9 worth of value from it.

Thx Devon...

I was just checking it out compared to "Codeanywhere" app. I like both's code hinting and/or code completion, but especially like the keyboard text selection/navigation wheel with textastic. That's GREATLY appreciated given the ipad's limited keyboard cursor or navigation. I like Codeanywhere's ability to use on laptop AND ipad, but the lack of line numbers with Codeanywhere's ipad version seems short sighted.

Have you used the premium version of Codeanywhere or have any comparison notes?

Sorry, I haven't used Codeanywhere.  I'd be interested to hear your opinions after living with it for a while.
