Hi, all,
In an effort to consolidate communication channels for the Nashville PHP user group, we've decided to move all communication to Meetup.com:
http://www.meetup.com/nashville-php
This will allow us to better serve our members, and it will provide an easier way to keep everyone updated on news and announcements, as well as facilitate discussions and idea-sharing among members. To start a discussion on the mailing list, send an email to
nashvill...@meetup.com (you must be a member of the Meetup.com group).
We think this will help shine a better spotlight on job postings, as well as allow members greater flexibility in tracking the forum to receive job postings.
The old Google Group will continue to remain in place, but we have disabled posting to it.
A few more communication points:
- Twitter: We're going to start using @nashvillephp more often to help promote announcements to our community.
- IRC: We maintain an active channel on Freenode IRC in #nashvillephp. Please consider joining us there for daily help and discussion.
- Slack: If Slack is more of your thing, feel free to join #php on NashDev Slack. To request an invitation, go here: https://nashdev-slack.herokuapp.com/
We're not fans of splitting our community between IRC and Slack. We'll play things by ear and see how both channels are used over time. Feel free to use the one you're most comfortable with. As organizers, we'll be logged into both.
Finally, RSVPs are filling up fast for the 4th Annual Nashville Code User Group Holiday Party, so RSVP before we're out of space!
Cheers,
Ben, Bill, Jacques, and Rachel
