It was great to find this site. I've been a huge fan of Mid-Century
Modern architecture for the past decade and am glad to see more
interest in this style both from a preservation stand point, but also
from a renovation and restoration front.

It looks like my wife and I will be making the move to the Nashville
area in about 3 years due to job relocation. We are currently in the
Detroit area and have lived here most of our lives. We can't wait to
make the move south. Our 3 month summers are just too short and the
winters seem to get longer every year.

After doing on on-line real estate search recently, just to see what
was available, I was a bit disappointed to see so many new builds that
look like all the other generic new builds in our area and very few
"modern" home styles. I was glad to see on the nashvillemodern site
that there are some MCM examples in the Nashville area. I know it will
take some hunting, but I'm hopeful that we will be able to find
something that will fit the bill and our style.

See you soon~

Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by the website and taking time to post to the
forum. Welcome!

It's true, Nashville has it's share of run-of-the-mill new
developments, with big boring boxy homes. But if you look
strategically (basically, in any areas developed in the 50s & 60s) you
just might stumble onto some great stuff. It does take time...and a
lot of driving! I wish you luck in your search. It's good you're years
out from the move. I recommend coming for regular visits before hand.
You can really take time to learn your way around the city, and where
those pockets of "cool homes" might be. Let me know if I can be of any
assistance.

Take care, and thanks again for visiting the site.

There is a decent resource in 615modern.com.

There is a house that the fellow who runs 615modern is building; he is
a real estate agent with Village Realtors and, it seems, is doing some
development work.

The home is a nice little new modern home and the site features
construction updates, etc.

He also has an MLS listing service (inside the same site) that
features current moderns on the Nashville MLS.

Best of luck-I've been looking for about 18 months now and almost got
one, but was beat out by a cash offer...

Which really bummed me out!

You'll love Nashville-it's a great place to live; there just aren't
enough mods out there on the market for reasonable money.

Regards,

King

Thanks for that lead for 615modern.com.

I'll probably be doing some leg work (driving around, looking)
sometime in June when I come down to get things set up for business.

Any 50's or 60's neighborhood leads would be appreciated.
