There is no better time to eat than Thanksgiving and Christmas and there is no better reason to buy the best.  No matter what day it is, a Farm Raised, Pastured Turkey from Avalon Acres IS, by far, the best turkey you will ever eat.  While you're at it, reserve one for Christmas too!

Farm Raised Turkeys from Avalon Acres are the BEST you can get and are less expensive than mail order offerings of organic birds. We always get rave reviews about our turkeys and they make that special once-a-year meal even more special.  If you′re looking for a delicious, sustainably raised, local turkey this Thanksgiving, your best bet is to purchase one from your local farmers, Avalon Acres Farms (that′s us!)  You will receive giblets inside the bird as well as complete cooking, brining and thawing instructions to help you make a perfect centerpiece for your holiday table. 

 

We'll also be sending out a special order email so you can order 'extras' and trimmings to go with your turkey. 

 

Do not wait to reserve your bird... we are growing a limited amount of only 225 this year and we are raising them here right here on the farm.

Our turkeys are the best because we raise them outside (right here on Avalon Acres Farm), on pasture, humanely with lots of space to roam.  They enjoy the sunshine, fresh air and lush green grass.  We only feed the birds natural feed without chemicals, hormones or antibiotics and there are never any preservatives, flavor enhancers or saline solution used in the processing.   Commercial Turkeys may contain up to 7.5 percent (1 ½ pounds in a 20-pound bird) of a chemical broth intended to add flavor!!   Our birds are also leaner and healthier for you and they cook at a lower temperature in 1/3 less cook time.

 

Usually you want about minimum of 1-1/2 pounds of turkey per person w/leftovers. Birds will come frozen (butchered one to two weeks before Thanksgiving) in the following sizes (all plus or minus one pound):

 

12lb Turkey (X-Small) =  $60.00
14lb Turkey (Small) =  $70.00
16lb Turkey (Medium) =  $80.00
18lb Turkey (Large) =  $90.00
20lb Turkey (X-Large) =  $100.00
22lb Turkey (Jumbo) =  $110.00

23+ pounds (Super) = $4.99/lb

 

If you want a larger bird, please contact us and we can put you on a waiting list. We usually end up with a few "Jumbos" (over 22 lbs) and they will be sold per pound at $4.99/lb. We believe our turkeys are very reasonably priced for the quality you are receiving. Internet competitors (such as Heritage Foods, USA) sells their farm fresh turkeys for $10/lb.

We would be thrilled if you elect to pay for your turkey in full, but it's not necessary. There is a minimum $25 non-refundable deposit to reserve your bird.  We will send you an invoice that we prefer you pay online on our secure online Bill & Pay service with an e-check or credit card.  You can also mail in your deposit within 7 days if you wish.  The balance will be FIRMLY due two weeks before delivery on November 3rd so we can make sure all e-checks clear and we can satisfy a waiting list should people not claim their birds. You can pay your balance online or by mail as well, as long as it's received on the farm before the deadline.  Should you elect to pay by check, please make sure the memo field is descriptive as to WHOSE turkey you are paying for... that helps us match up the checks with accounts.

 

If you know anyone else who might be interested, please let them know about our turkeys.  Download the flyer here if you have a place to post flyers. We would LOVE IT if you helped us sell our turkeys.  If you want them in color, ask us and we will mail you color copies. 

 

HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR TURKEY 

We will provide turkeys (and trimmings) in TWO WAYS this year:

1.   PICK UP - Sunday November 24th per the schedule below (no additional charge)

2.   DELIVERY - Monday, November 25th (8:00a - 6:00p) for a $10 delivery fee.
