Know Your Immigration Legal Rights Seminar
This December 4, 2010 from 12:00pm thru 3:00pm, the Tennessee Bar Association’s
Immigration Law Section will be hosting a "Know Your Immigration Legal Rights" seminar in
order to educate the immigrant community about the legal aspects of immigration law, and the
role of lawyers in immigration law.
The following topics will be covered in a PowerPoint presentation presented by
member(s) of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Immigration Law Section:
i) Notary Publics, their role, and how they differ from attorneys;
ii) Unauthorized Practice of Law;
iii) How certain crimes can affect a foreign national's immigration status;
iv) A description of a U.S. lawyer's role, and responsibilities;
v) The importance of being honest and forthright in the immigration process; and
vi) How to check and verify the status of a lawyer.
The location of the seminar is at the Nashville Chinese Baptist Church, 107 Lyle Land,
Nashville, TN 37211.
