Here's a little ice breaker to kick start the discussion list.  Try telling us a little about yourself.

If you need a little help getting started, here are a few questions you might answer.

ASP.NET, WinForms, or WCF?
How many years have you been doing this?
Where do you work?
What's your favorite beer?
What was the last thing you read?
Do you have a blog?
What's your favorite book?
What was the greatest band of all time?

About me:

I'm Evan aka therealhoff (twitter).  I have a website at evanhoff.com, but current blog on lostechies.com.  I'm more of an ASP.NET guy than anything in the WinForms world (only because that's where my experience has mostly been at this point).

My favorite beer (at the moment) is Stella, and my interests range from Responsibility Driven Design, DDD, and O/R M to SDLC improvement, Systems Thinking, and Lean.

My name is Alan Stevens
I write ASP.NET apps when I can find somebody to pay me.
Been writing software for a living since June of 2000
Looking for a contract currently. (hint, hint)
Currently enjoying most everything from New Belgium Brewing Company.
I'm partial to audiobooks, and The Toyota Way was the last one I
finished.
My blog is at http://netcave.org, but I twitter more than I blog at
http://twitter.com/alanstevens
The Beatles are the greatest rock band of all time, but the Miles
Davis Quartet during the Kind of Blue period are the best band of all
time.

My name is Jay Glynn. Currently working at PureSafety. I've been a
winforms guy for quite some time, this is the first "real" asp.net
system I've worked on.
Don't drink beer, makes me sick for some reason.
Last thing I read was a re-read of Domain Driven Design.
Have a blog at www.geekswithblogs.com/jglynn, but hasn't been updated
for quite some time.
My favorite books are the ones that I wrote since I get paid for
them.
Rolling Stones of course.

My name is Brett Baggott
I'm primarily an ASP.NET guy, currently with a HEAVY lean toward MVC.
Been writing software for a living since graduating from Madison High
School in 1986.
I've been the "web guy" at Nashville Wraps since 2000, we have a small
5 man IT shop.
My blog is at http://brettbaggott.com/blog and twitter at
http://twitter.com/brettbaggott. Just getting started.
Current favorite book is "The Goal" recommended by Alan Stevens
(thanks Alan). Right now digging into Agile Principles, Patterns, and
Practices in C# and loving it.
The Beatles were the greatest rock band of all time but I have a soft
spot for sexy wailing females and Dolores O'Riordan is my favorite.
Her latest album (solo now), "Are You Listening" is a return to her
Linger roots without all the political crap found in the last
Cranberries album.

I'm passionately convinced that ALT.NET is on the right path and the
"continuous improvement" aspect is where I want to be. I'm late to the
party but I'm catching up fast, meaning the more I learn the more I
learn I need to learn more (did I just break DRY).

I'm looking forward to meeting more of my fellow Nashville altnetters
soon!

Hello,
My name is Will Gant. I work at the corporate office of Brookdale
Senior Living in Brentwood. I do ASP.NET, Winforms, and WPF. I started
doing development in the 1997 as a hobby, but didn't do it
professionally until 2000 or so. My favorite beer is Guinness. I'm
currently working my way through Chris Sells WPF book. I don't have a
blog any more. I would have difficulty pinning down a favorite book,
as I read a lot instead of watching TV. Ditto with the music thing -
I'll listen to just about anything other than bling-rap and country.

My name is Troy DeMonbreun.

I've been a developer (primarily web front-ends) since 1994, starting
with HTML, JavaScript, and Perl, then moving to ColdFusion (tag-based,
very similar to ASP) with a SQL Server back-end.

Pushing CF to the limit with psuedo-OO constructs, I moved into the
Java world in 2000 - 2002 using JSP/Servlets/Struts on a Weblogic app
server where I got my first taste of true OOAD, Unit Testing (JUnit),
MVC (Struts), Build Scripts (Ant), and Source Control (CVS).

After finding out Nashville was really a MS town, at the end of 2002,
I moved into .NET and found C# and the .NET Framework to be much more
enjoyable and flexible than Java and J2EE.

And I'm glad to see some interest in ALT.NET in the Nashville area. I
look forward to learning new things from all of you. No pressure. ;-)

My blog is at http://blog.troyd.net.

Hello, this is Colin Callahan.

Before 2000 I spent my time making coffee for people at Starbucks
until I got curious about how the muffin button worked. After that I
dabbled in C++, vb, php, and spent a few years messing with
ColdFusion. A client of mine asked me to convert a ColdFusion app to
C# and that was the end of ColdFusion for me.

I know more about ASP.NET than WCF but prefer the latter. I really dig
Yazoo's Dos Perros but only directly from the tap room. Currently I'm
reading Domain Driven Design and The Strong Willed Child.

My interests are SCRUM, Design Patterns, Object Oriented Principles
and working from home.

I love lots of music: Pink Floyd, Stones, Beatles, Steely Dan, Neil
Young, Wilco, Ryan Adams, Rudder (Fusion), etc.

I look forward to meeting everyone.
