Has anyone used the new artist designed bike racks? What is the
verdict? the local media did a story about "your tax dollars going to
bike racks that don't work!" http://www.wsmv.com/news/24103614/detail.html

Speaking of bike parking, does anyone know who's owns the raspberry
colored track bike with powder blue deep V rims that is locked up on
4th ave downtown (north of Broadway). it is locked to a street sign
but the lock is only on the rear wheel and not the frame. Every time i
go by it is there and it is always locked up that way.

The "Microphone" rack near the roundabout is usable, but very cheesy.

Thanks. When i rode by it looked like the frame could be easily removed from the rear wheel. You can see in the photo that Austin sent that it is locked in a way that keeps the frame from being removed from the wheel.

i rode past the pad lock shaped bike racks across from the library downtown. those are kind of cool. Not u-lock friendly. You would need a cable to use those.

There is a rack on the east side of the pedestrian bridge as well. I think that is a weird spot. I know that the city is putting a park there but i think somewhere like hillsboro village that gets lots of bike traffic would be a better spot for one of those new racks. oh well. it's a start.
