I really like this idea.  Wish it had come around sooner.  We should start a contest like this immediately after NMMF and give everyone a year to build their projects and present them at NMMF 2014 where we announce the prize.  Prize doesn't really have to be that big.  The geek cred would be enough to motivate more people to build projects for next year but if we could promise $1000 or more it would be even sweeter.  This would be a great thing to talk to the new Nashville innovation director guy (mayor of Palo Alto...name is escaping me right now).  I bet he could throw some funding into this.

Bump.  This is a great idea we should incorporate into our planning and our fundraising efforts for NMMF 2014.  We can also incorporate it into other events throughout the year, including HackNash 4.
