Congrats to all those who raced the Cross race at McEwen last weekend. Good luck to any of you who are going to Louisville. Wish I was going but I'm still recovering from the Marathon.
So bundle up it'll be cold but not as cold as my old Chicago fellas. Yes, it snowed there today but I know those guys and they'll be out this weekend on their hammer fests so lets do the same in the balmy 45 degrees.
See y'all there.
Don't want to drop +$60 in gas and another $25 in race fees? Got
kids
and a wife at home waiting for you to get the training done? Other
committments?
7am leave from Portland Brew, no drop rule to the Starbucks at 5
points in downtown Franklin. We'll be taking Granny White to Murray
then Left to Franklin road into downtown Franklin. THIS IS A NO
DROP. IF SOMEONE FALLS OFF, CALL A GAP. POINT IS TO STAY TOGETHER.
Once we leave from Franklin the pace will definitely pick up.
8:10 we leave and head out Carters Creek to Bear Creek, Up Perkins
Hill, then you can go left to Fly if you got the time and the hall
pass (80+miles back to Portland Brew from here) or go Right and back
home via Old hillsboro Road thru Liepers (60+miles back to Portland
Brew). We'll make one stop at the little Fly market store, 10
minutes to do any regrouping, then the Trace, back off to Liepers for
a final sprint and home to whereever after that final effort. This
will be harder efforts attacks etc.
Sprints at the county lines. Hard efforts will be rewarded with
pride
and good comments. We're here to ride hard, have fun and be safe.
It
is open to anyone, no aeros please.
Attitude
If you want to attack or go on a flyer, by all means. If you want to
chase, go tempo, by all means but it is supposed to be race-like yet
friendly.
I'm planning on still pushing this ride and concept, ie same time,
same route. The more the merrier so feel free to add your fellow
racers and forward this message..
Thanks and see you there.
