Department Description
Team Green Adventures is a
department of Lightning 100 (WRLT 100.1 FM) designed to get listeners and
community members engaged in an active lifestyle. Through adventure we promote
health, community service and environmental awareness. Events are primarily
beginner friendly with an emphasis on customer service by helping new adventure
seekers realize their health goals.
As a department of Lightning
100 (WRLT 100.1 FM), Team Green Adventures is also an advertising portal for
businesses to promote their products and services that match Team Green’s
mission.
Job Description
This is an entry level
full-time position with a 90 day trial training period.
Duties include the
following:
- Assist Team Green Director with creating, organizing,
and leading Team Green events.
- Prepare and ensure an accurate timeline toward
proper execution of events.
- Supervise trip leaders. Orient and welcome
participants while ensuring the quality, safety and enjoyment of
participants.
- Coordinate smooth adjournment from each event,
follow up with all necessary correspondence, and document a full recap
report of events.
- Promote program and membership through social
networking, on-air campaigns, online partner sites, and sponsored events.
Responsible for obtaining listings for Team Green events on targeted
community calendars and publications while guaranteeing brand consistency.
- Manage member relations in absence of the Team
Green Director.
- Assist Team Green Director with editing and distributing
weekly eNewsletter and fliers. Assist Team Green Director with updating
Team Green website content and event postings.
- Assist Promotions Coordinator with organizing
major Lightning 100 events.
- Assist Office Manager with reception duties,
including but not limited to answering and directing phone calls, handling
giveaways for winner pick up, and greeting station guests.
Applicant Requirements
Bachelor Degree (BA) from an
accredited four year university, preferred. Areas of interest should include
communications, public relations, outdoor recreation, business management,
and/or event planning. Applicant should have basic knowledge in Excel
Spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and Word. Applicant should have some experience with
outdoor activities, and be willing to try new experiences or travel when
needed. Proficiency in Facebook and Twitter a plus.
