Hi folks

I am curious if anyone here has been flying a UAV recently? I would
like to come observe if that was ok. I have an easystar, an ardupilto
mega and a beagleboard that I am making a tangled mess out of. I
haven't accomplished much with this stuff yet, but take baby steps
with it each week.

As an aside, I am the chair of the NH chapter of the IEEE's Robotics &
Automation Society and would like to invite members of this group to
the meetings. They are free and open to the public. We've had talks
about solar powered robots, medical robots, homemade linux driven
robots, small personal submarines, etc. My appologies for the short
notice, but the next meeting is tonight at Deka Research about their
Luke Arm. The meeting starts at 6:30pm, directions:

Technology Center
324 Commercial Street, 4th Floor
On street parking is free after 5:30pm unless a marked event is taking
place in which case parking is $1. Marked DEKA visitor parking can be
used.
Enter through doors under either end of the elevated walkway between
the buildings. Proceed to the fourth floor. Meeting will be in the
"Easy Street" conference room at the 324 (southern) side of the
elevated walkway.

I'm looking forward to talking some UAV (and UGV/UUV if interested) in
the future.

Welcome to the group Mike. I'm a newbie as well. Have you been
flying much lately?

Hi Lee

Unfortunately I have not been flying much lately. Hopefully I'll be
able to get out and do more in the coming weeks. Where do you go fly?
What sort of system do you have?

I mostly fly mostly at home or locally in Acton. I have an EasyStar,
a hexacopter, a quadcopter and a few heli's. I'm on my fifth
arducopter/aurdupilot mega imu. I've lost three hexacopters
unfortunately.

That's a bummer losing all those hexacopters. Do you build them
yourself? With so many arducopter/ardupilot imus, are you creating a
swarm of uvs? If I remember, Acton is NW of Boston with RT 2 & RT 119
running through it. Are there good flying spots there? I'm mostly
flying in Weare NH and a little bit in New Boston NH. I have an
EasyStar and a Esky Honeybee.

Yes I've been building them myself using various frames I find on the
Internet. I would have the makings of a swarm if i didnt keep losing
them. I just got started in this whole rc thing last November. I
wished there were good flying spots close by. New England with all
its hills and trees makes for some tough flying. I get jealous seeing
videos of all the people flying in the desert or wide open spaces.
I'll have look up google maps to see how far you are. I've never
heard of those cities in NH.
