We are looking for at least one full-time teaching assistant to help with the new Bootcamp that starts on Monday, 9 September.
There may also be an opportunity for one part-time position during September as I might be interested in someone to assist with teaching HTML/CSS specifically.
The full-time role would be similar to the role that Drew Butler filled with your cohort. We'd look for you to be involved in helping to teach certain specific subjects and for actively engaging with students in support of their programming practice on exercises and projects. This opportunity would give you a chance to learn by teaching which is a very powerful way to reinforce what you learned the first time through the class. You'd also have time available outside of class to work on contract projects and continue your job search.
You know the subjects - there are no fundamental changes to the core curriculum for this coming class. We would expect you to get deeply back into javascript, jQuery, some of the frameworks, AJAX, JSON and also learn something new about JS testing tools and node.js as we want to spend time on those topics with this new class.
This is a full-time role - 8:30 to 4 every day. There is another full-time junior instructor/teaching assistant already hired for this class, so we're planning on having two teaching assistants in the classroom at all times.
This is a great opportunity to reinforce what you learned the last time you went through the class as well as increase your confidence in your front-end development skills.
It is entirely possible that we would be willing to role the person in this position over to a full-time TA role on the second half of the program as well.
Compensation will be above the rate of the weekly stipends offered to students but less than you'd expect to make in a full-time junior developer role.
