Role call - cohort 2 - check in with Joe please

Cohort 2 grads -
I have asked Joe Shepherd to help me take a role call of cohort 2, esp. those of you who are still searching for a permanent position. We're up to, or slightly over, half the cohort in positions, which is great, but that still leaves quite a few of you available. The rate at which I have been receiving calls/emails from companies looking for help has gone up significantly in the last 3 weeks and I've realized that I don't quite know where everyone stands relative to work, relative to what they've been doing to keep learning more coding, relative to freelance work they may have delivered and relative to generally where their interests now may stand relative to front-end work vs. back-end work vs. full-stack (i.e. anything) and so on. So Joe has agreed to help canvas the group to get an update from everyone who has not let me know that they have found a full-time gig or otherwise kept me updated regarding status and interests.
Joe will be reaching out in the next couple of days to everyone to gather info. In the meantime, I've got two companies that have contacted me in the last 3 days that I'm trying to close the loop with regarding any openings they may have and I've got two or three others who tell me they are planning to post something to the group soon. So stay tuned and always be coding. For those of you looking for a meaningful, resume-building coding project, I've got two apps that need to be created and for use by the software school so let Joe know if you're interested in an internship-type project that will allow you to sharpen up some of your Javascript and/or Ruby on Rails chops.
If anyone has questions about opportunities or other search/career related stuff, please let me know. Since we have Chyld on board full-time as an instructor I'm not spending time in the classroom so I have more time available to pursue partners, talk to people about placement opportunities for you all, etc. But I can't help, and other mentors can't help, if I'm not up to date on your status. So let Joe know what's up.
