You all may have seen this already on the Ruby on Rails meetup mailing list, but just in case you haven't.  No relationship exists today between Lonely Planet and NSS although I am going to reach out to John and see what we can get set up...

Hey all,
I’m lead at the new Lonely Planet (http://lonelyplanet.com) office in Franklin. We’re looking for all levels of Rails devs to help expand our office and build some great things to help travelers. Check out the posting below and let me know if you are interested.

About the role:
Lonely Planet is seeking all levels of Rails developers to help us build a next generation travel experience. We’re passionate about our products and the evolving technologies we use to build them. We want engineers who to build things quickly, probably break some along the way and fix them even faster. We value rapid deployment, lean principles along with metrics driven engineering and experimentation.
Lonely Planet Online is responsible for delivering lonelyplanet.com, a place that inspires, connects and helps travellers in all stages of their travels. Our development team works with Product and Design  teams to deliver shared goals, decide what we’re building and how we’re going to build it.

We're looking for developers who:
• love and use Ruby (or are willing to learn)
• bore friends by talking about test-driven development and automated testing frameworks (we use RSpec, Cucumber and Selenium)
• swear by CI and continuous deployment (we use Jenkins)
• are unable to live without source code management (we use GitHub)
• need to understand technology problems as part of a broader product vision
• respect Ron Swanson (OK, this one isn’t really a requirement)
• have passion for travel and interest in building systems that connect travellers with content and each other.
• Bonus points for experience in any of the following
  • travel bookings, e-commerce, data analysis/science

Do you contribute to an open source project or write a blog? Let us know. We’re interested in what you’re excited about. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
• our engineering blog: http://engineering.lonelyplanet.com/
• our GitHub repo: https://github.com/lonelyplanet

To apply, send your CV and a bit about yourself to: john...@lonelyplanet.com

Thanks,
John Bohn
