I would be grateful if anyone could direct me to studies that discuss the use of the term "Jacobite" in reference to the Syriac Orthodox Church.

This isn’t really what you’re looking for, but related to it: there are a few examples of the term “Jacobite” being used by sympathetic Christian authors who shared their “mia physis” Christology that I cite in a footnote in my article “Heretics, Dissidents, and Society: Narrating the Trial of John bar ʿAbdun,” Dumbarton Oaks Papers 76 (2022): 117–144, at 117n1 (which refers to three examples, two of which are quoted later in the article).
