I
am working with a colleague on determining whether the Coptic Church has ever
taken a stance on war/peace. Has anyone ever come across teachings,
pronouncements, theological reflections that address this issue in ways that
parallel the Catholic and Orthodox traditions? Thanks in advance for any
help.

I would be careful when looking at teachings, pronouncements or theological reflections, especially modern, because they are likely to be heavily influenced in the Coptic Church by 19th century Protestant and Catholic teachings and views, as is also the case with biblical interpretation and views on ecclesiastical (especially Papal) authority. I would look more to the lived example. I don't think that the way Copts have lived under Islam is an aberration from its (and general Orthodox) ideals. ---Fr. Elijah Mueller
