Dear friends and colleagues,

I am excited to offer a new online learning opportunity designed to help build confidence in reading Christian Arabic manuscripts. With approximately 90% of Christian heritage in Arabic—tens of thousands of manuscripts—unedited, developing the ability to work with manuscripts is vital in this field.

Starting on day one, 6 December 2025, at 7am UTC (UK time), I have uploaded the first manuscript excerpt. Members had nearly two days to decipher, transcribe and translate it at their own pace. On day two at 7pm, I uploaded my transcription and translation with explanatory notes so they can compare their work. On day three at 7am, the next excerpt was released, followed on day four at 7pm by my transcription—and the cycle continues.

This programme is recommended for those with at least an intermediate level of Arabic (Classical or Modern Standard).

Feel free to reach out if anything needs clarification.

Best wishes,

Dear friends and colleagues,

I am excited to offer a new online learning opportunity designed to help build confidence in reading Christian Arabic manuscripts. With approximately 90% of Christian heritage in Arabic—tens of thousands of manuscripts—unedited, developing the ability to work with manuscripts is vital in this field.

One day one, I share an excerpt from a manuscript. You then have a day and a half to work through the text. On the evening of day two, I release a full transcription and English translation, along with explanatory notes. For the next seven days, I answer questions and respond to comments as we explore the manuscript together. The excerpts and the transcriptions will stay online, so that you can return to them whenever you wish.

This opportunity is available either as a regular program, with a manuscript excerpt a week, or as an intensive program, with a manuscript excerpt every two days. It is recommended for those with at least an intermediate level of Arabic (Classical or Modern Standard).

Detailed descriptions are on the two websites where I release the manuscripts and the transcriptions: https://substack.com/@krisztinaszilagyi1 and https://buymeacoffee.com/krisztinaszilagyi.

Examples of manuscript excerpts posted so far:

Feel free to reach out if anything needs clarification. Please share with anyone to whom this may be of interest.

Best wishes,
