Dear colleagues,

I am excited to share with you my new book, out in the Early Christian Arabic series of the Cambridge Elements, entitled The Linguistic Nature of Early Christian Arabic Literature. It is freely downloadable now, for the next two weeks, via the following link:

I hope you will find it a useful and meaningful contribution to our field. I would like especially to note the acknowledgments, which come at the end of the book (pg. 111, I believe), and in which I mention, among others, our dear colleague Sidney H. Griffith, were written before his passing. It is an honor to recognize him and his tremendous impact on the field, and, on a personal note, the large role he played in piquing my interest in the field of Christian Arabic studies by his scholarship (in this case, his article "From Aramaic to Arabic: The Languages of the Monasteries of Palestine in the Byzantine and Early Islamic Periods," which I read as a first-year PhD student before eventually devouring everything he wrote).

All my best to you all,

Phillip
